This policy explains how Appdesk Home Services Sdn Bhd (Registration No. 202401021563 (1638947-U)), referred to below as "Appdesk", "we" or "us", handles personal data collected through the website appdesk.my and through our booking channels. We process personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.
1. What we collect
When you book a job or make an enquiry we collect the details you provide: your name, mobile number, email address, service address or general area, and your description of the fault, including any photos or videos you send us. If you contact us via WhatsApp or telephone, we keep the message history or call notes needed to manage your job.
Our website also records limited technical data — IP address, browser type and pages visited — through server logs and, where you consent, analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the details of that.
2. Why we collect it
- To schedule, perform and follow up on the repair or installation you requested
- To send quotes, receipts and warranty documentation
- To maintain a job history for your address so warranty claims can be verified
- To meet accounting, tax and legal record-keeping obligations
- To improve our website and service based on aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not send marketing messages unless you have expressly asked to receive them.
3. Who sees your data
Your details are visible to our dispatch team and to the technician assigned to your job. We share data with third parties only where necessary to deliver the service — for example, a heater manufacturer processing a warranty claim — or where the law requires disclosure. Any service providers we use (such as cloud hosting and accounting software) are bound by confidentiality arrangements.
4. How long we keep it
Job records are kept for seven years to satisfy warranty commitments and statutory accounting requirements, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Enquiries that do not become jobs are deleted within twelve months.
5. How we protect it
Data is stored on access-controlled systems with encryption in transit. Access is limited to staff who need it for their role, and staff devices are protected by screen locks and remote-wipe capability.
6. Your rights
Under the PDPA you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask for corrections, or withdraw consent to further processing (which may limit our ability to honour warranties). To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected] or post to No. 31-G, Jalan Ampang Utama 2/2, One Ampang Avenue, 68000 Ampang, Selangor. We respond within 21 days.
7. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects how your data is used, the revision date above will be updated and material changes will be flagged on this page for 30 days.
